We're so excited that Forth 1 and Forth 2 shows are now broadcasting across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk from St James Quarter from 17th June. After broadcasting from Forth Street for the last time, Forth 1's fantastic breakfast show Boogie in the Morning moved to the new studio for the first live broadcast at 8.10am. They kicked off the show playing 'New Emotion' by Time Frequency.

After broadcasting from Forth House since 1975, our new offices and studios are on the fourth and fifth floors of the new leisure complex alongside the newly-opened Everyman cinema and hotel accommodation.

The plan was to move from Forth House to St James Quarter during Boogie in the Morning but it wasn't as easy as we thought to get everyone, including a 400 pound cow, there in time for the first broadcast!

Presenter Boogie shared how excited he was about the move, saying: "It was going to take somewhere really special to beat our long-standing home at Forth House and our spectacular new studios and offices at St James Quarter do just that.

"When we walked in this morning for the big reveal I was blown away by the studio. The spectacular view is the first thing that hit me especially compared to the old studio which was in the basement at Forth House. Now every morning I get this amazing view of our city!"

Why are Forth 1 and Forth 2 moving?

Bosses behind both the development and the stations have been welcoming the move.

Victoria Easton-Riley, Content Director for the Hits Radio Network across Scotland said: "Our new location opens up a huge range of opportunities. Not just our amazing new studios and offices where we will continue to broadcast our award winning shows from every day, but also working alongside our friends at St James Quarter and their fantastic range of tenants in this new and unique partnership.

"It is a significant investment for the company and is a clear demonstration of our commitment and pride in Forth 1 & 2. It is an honour to have such a loyal listener base and with the continued support from them across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk we will strive to continue to delivering top quality entertainment, news, sport and of course the biggest hit."

Ed Webb, Director of Development Management at Nuveen Real Estate, said: "Part of our ambition for St James Quarter was to create a new art, culture and fashion hub that merges seamlessly with the city’s cultural offering and events calendar.

"By welcoming Bauer Media UK Group’s Radio Forth stations as our media partner, and having shows broadcast straight from St James Quarter, the development is integrating further into the cultural heart of the city."

Nick Peel, Managing Director at St James Quarter, said: "We’re honoured to be welcoming Forth 1 and 2 to St James Quarter. Forth 1’s ‘Boogie in the Morning’ show is iconic in Edinburgh so to have it broadcast from The Quarter every day is a big deal for us.

"This move is testament to our commitment to provide world-class facilities that will continuously offer unique and new experiences for our guests."

Graham Bryce, Chief Operating Officer for Bauer Media Audio UK, said: "Forth has been the leading commercial radio station for Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife for 47 years.

"In keeping with the multi-media digital environment we now operate within, we wanted to seek out a new contemporary office space and state-of-the-art facilities to ensure we can build on our market-leading position long into the future.

"We continually invest in our facilities, so I’m absolutely delighted to have found Forth 1 and 2’s new home in Scotland’s most iconic development – St. James Quarter.

"Our award-winning teams, led by Boogie in the Morning on Forth 1, are really excited to be able to broadcast live from this amazing development. We can’t wait to get moved in and to get started."
