Former Longannet station shortlisted for site of new train factory

The former Longannet station has been shortlisted as the potential site for a new train factory.

Rolling stock engineering firm Talgo is looking to build a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and is now looking at six locations across the UK - with Longannet being one of them.

The move would bring around 1,000 jobs to the area following the demolition of the site in 2016.

Talgo will today meet with stakeholders in Edinburgh to discuss the proposals.

A final decision is due next month.
