Former Hibs boss Bobby Williamson has revealed he's been diagnosed with cancer.

The 56-year-old - who managed the Hibees between 2002 and 2004 - found out he had the illness in the summer.

Since then he's undergone gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.

He's spoken to The Scottish Sun about his fight with the illness, and told the newspaper he's feeling optimistic about making a full recovery.

He's targeting a return to management in 2018.

Williamson also had spells in charge of Kilmarnock, Plymouth and Chester in the UK but has more recently been managing in Africa.

He's managed the Uganda national side and at the moment is living in Kenya.
