Former Hearts and Rangers star Ian Black signs for Tranent Juniors

Former Hearts and Rangers star Ian Black has made a surprise move to junior football, signing for home town club Tranent.

The 32-year-old has struggled to find a permanent club in recent years and had spells at Blackpool, Skelmersdale United and Chorley in 2017 alone.

He found game time limited at all three clubs.

The midfielder goes straight into the Tranent squad for tomorrow's match with Dunbar.

He said: " The game has been good to me and I want to help Tranent achieve their vision.

"I won’t be coming here to take my foot of the gas. I'm hungry to be a success at Tranent. There’s no hiding place at your home club and I can’t wait to meet the boys."
