The main rain line between Edinburgh and Glasgow is likely to stay closed for the rest of the day because of flooding near Linlithgow.

The problems in the Winchburgh tunnel are also affecting services on the line to Stirling and Dunblane.

Scotrail says engineers are using pumps to try and clear the water, while fire crews have also been drafted in to help.

Passengers were stranded on board trains for around two hours last night.

Scotrail says there are two other routes you can use via Bathgate or Shotts, and a half hourly shuttle service is running from Glasgow Queen Street to Linlithgow.

There is more heavy rain forecast this weekend, with Met Office yellow weather warnings in place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
