A United Airlines plane bound for Chicago returned to Edinburgh Airport after it declared an emergency off the west coast of Scotland.
A flight bound for Chicago has been diverted to Edinburgh Airport for the second time in as many days.
The United Airlines UA2081 flight from Heathrow declared an emergency as it flew over the Irish Sea on Wednesday.
The same Boeing 767-300 was forced to land at Edinburgh Airport on Tuesday due to a fuel leak.
The latest flight landed safely on Runway 24 shortly after 3.30pm on Wednesday.
It was expected to resume its journey to Chicago at 4.20pm.
Emergency services are at the scene.
