Five people injured following crash on Edinburgh bypass

A crash between a bin lorry, bus and two cars has left five people injured.

The four-vehicle accident happened on the Edinburgh bypass between Baberton and Dreghorn on Monday evening (6th June).

Police said a woman on board the bus suffered a serious leg injury'' in the crash.

She is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and her injury is not thought to be life-threatening.

Four other people who suffered minor injuries were also taken to hospital and have since been released.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in connection with this incident.''

The eastbound lane of the road was closed following the accident at 5pm causing lengthy tailbacks before it was re-opened at 6.45pm.
