Fire Wrecks Old Bus In Edinburgh Primary School
Children arrived for classes at a primary school in Edinburgh this morning to find vandals had destroyed an old bus which was used a piece of playground equipment. The single-decker vehicle was set alight during the early hours of Thursday and police confirmed the blaze was being treated a suspicious. The bus had been gifted to Murrayburn Primary in Sighthill by Lothian Buses to give youngsters an extra learning space. It also contained a crop of daffodils which youngsters had grown to enter into a competition. A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police in Edinburgh were called in the early hours of this morning (Thu) to a fire at Murrayburn Primary School in Sighthill Loan. "The fire took hold in a decommissioned single-decker bus, which was used as playground equipment and well alight by the time officers were called to the scene at around 12:20am. "No injuries have been reported however police are treating the incident as suspicious. "Anyone who has information that can assist police with their ongoing enquiries is asked to call 101 or, alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
