A MAN is to stand trial charged with repeated sex attacks on a woman while she was asleep.

Ferguson, of Cairneyhill, Fife, is accused of 16 separate charges involving a total of four different women.

Prosecutors allege this took place while she was "asleep and incapable of giving or withholding consent".

The accusations also include claims Ferguson raped two of the other women and carried out a sex attack on the fourth.

The 16 charges span between 2000 and 2014. They are said to happened in Dundee, Alloa, Clacks and different locations in Fife.

Brian McConnachie QC, defending, today/yesterday entered not guilty pleas on Ferguson's behalf.

Judge Lord Turnbull set a trial due to start next May in Edinburgh.
