Family pays tribute to 17-year-old killed in Edinburgh road crash

The family of a teenager who was killed when the car he was driving crashed into a van have told how he always making others smile''.
Police Scotland confirmed Abdul Sajjad, 17, from Edinburgh, had been pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the city on Sunday.
Two other males were also hurt in the incident, with a 21-year-old being treated for serious injuries at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary while a 15-year-old was discharged after sustaining minor injuries.
The crash happened at about 9.25pm on Sunday in the capital's Regent Road when the Ford Fiesta the three males were in collided with a parked Citroen Relay van.
In a statement released through Police Scotland, Abdul's family said: Abdul was a beloved son, brother and friend.
He was an independent man who worked hard and dreamed big, putting others in front of himself and always making others smile.
As a family, we will now come together to grieve for Abdul and would ask that the media respect our privacy at this time.''
The road was closed for about six hours while accident investigation work was carried out, with police officers continuing inquiries into the full circumstances of the crash.
Sergeant Fraser Wood, from the road policing unit at Fettes police station, said: Tragically, this incident has resulted in a young man losing his life and our thoughts are with his family at this time.
We are still working to establish the full circumstances of the collision and anyone who was on Regent Road at the time and witnessed what happened should contact police immediately.
