Family pay tribute to "much loved" man following prison death

The family of a prisoner who died after an incident at a Clackmannashire prison over the weekend has been described as a "much loved son, father, brother and grandad".

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of 46-year-old Michael Mowat.

Police were called to HMP Glenochil in Tullibody, at around 12.50pm on Saturday.

The prisoner was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital where he later died.

Steven McIvor, 33, was charged with murder when he appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court on Monday.

He entered no plea and was committed for further examination.

He was remanded in custody
