Family of missing Fife man informed after a body is found on Isle of Rum

The family of a missing Fife man have been made aware as a body is recovered on the Isle of Rum.

Andy Samuel was reported missing on September 1st after being last seen at midnight the day before.

A dingy thought to belong to the 59-year-old was found in the Bay area on Thursday.

Officers say the body is yet to be formally identified and there are no suspicious circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man has been found on the coastline of the Isle of Rum during the afternoon of Saturday, 3 September.

"He is still to be formally identified but the family of Andy Samuel, 59, who had been reported missing in the area on Thursday, 1 September has been informed.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
