A woman has exclusively told Forth News that she believes she is "lucky to be alive" after a stone the size of a rugby ball was thrown at her car on Edinburgh bypass.

It happened on Tuesday night, when 34-year-old Emma Brady was travelling back from a restaurant with her two daughters.

Her windscreen was smashed at around 10pm when a large object was thrown from a bridge on Lanark Road, which overlooks the Edinburgh bypass.

The attack left her with facial injuries, and she had to be treated at the Royal Infirmary.

A second car was also targeted but the 28-year-old driver was not injured.

Police Scotland now want to speak to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area at the time.
