EXCLUSIVE: Mum tells of terrifying knife attack on son in Edinburgh park
A Mum says her life has been "turned upside down" after her 11-year-old son was threatened with a knife in an Edinburgh park.
Kerry McCauig is speaking exclusively to Forth News after the attack at Drylaw Park last Saturday (February 15).
Her son was at the park with friends when he was approached by a teenage boy, who threatened to hurt him with a blade while waving the weapon.
Police are investigating the incident but nobody has been arrested.
Kerry says: "It is literally the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. When you hear a child say to you that they've had a knife pointed at them, it's horrific. It is a parents worst nightmare.
"He has literally turned our lives upside down in the space of a two minute action. He has no idea what he has done to us and it'll be a long time before I feel safe letting him go anywhere on his own.
"That night and every night since he has been glued to me, really close. He's normally in his room, on his computer, but he's never left my side."
