An Edinburgh mum says she is "disgusted" that a teen responsible for holding her son at knifepoint in a city park has not been found.
Kerry McCuaig's son Adam was at Drylaw Skate Park with a group of friends on February 15 when he was approached by a group of teenage boys. That's when one boy aged between 13 and 15 approached him and threatened him with a blade.
A police investigation was launched at the time and officers appealed for help to find the boy responsible. But he has never been traced.
Police Scotland has now told Forth News that their investigation has ended.
Inspector Jonny Elliot of Drylaw Police Station said: "Enquiries have now concluded into a report that an 11-year-old boy was approached by a youth, described as being aged 13 to 15 and wearing a light grey hoodie, and threatened with a weapon in Drylaw Skate Park. This was understandably a very distressing incident for the boy's family, and all available lines of enquiry were pursued as part of this."
Now, Kerry says she thinks she's been let down. She told Forth News: "I have to admit I was really angry. It just seems like they don't care. It's really frustrating to know that the lad has got away with it and could do it all again. The next child might not be so lucky.
"To be honest with you, I'm really scared for Adam to go anywhere, even down to the local shop. I'm so paranoid wherever he goes now. He's always got his phone with him, I always make sure he has enough charge in his phone. It has definitely impacted the family.
"I'm disgusted, completely. You hear of lesser things going on and kids are being picked up for that. But a wee boy has been threatened with a knife, which could impact the way he reacts to things forever, and nothing."
