Emma Raducanu has become the first British woman to win the US Tennis Open final in 44 years.
The 18-year-old took a 6-4 6-3 win over her 19-year-old Canadian opponent, Leylah Fernandez.
The dramatic final saw Raducanu take a medical time out late in the last set, after skidding on the court and cutting her knee.
It was the first major tennis final between two teenagers in over two decades.
Raducanu entered the competition ranked 150th in the world. She is now set to be the best paid British sportswoman.
