Safety fears have been raised by staff at Edinburgh Zoo after a panda was let into its enclosure as a keeper was still inside.

The incident happened last year but has come to light after a CCTV image of the close call was leaked. It had been included in an email along with concerns over staff shortages from staff to bosses at the zoo.

The CCTV appears to show the zoo's male panda Yuang Guang just a few steps behind a female keeper trying to make her way out of the enclosure door.

Edinburgh Zoo has said the incident was fully investigated and "welfare and morale of employees is taken extremely seriously".
