An Edinburgh woman has completed a solo cycle from Ukraine back to Scotland for charity.
Human rights lawyer Andrea Fraser originally travelled to the Ukrainian border with Poland with much needed medical supplies.
The 31-year-old then took to her bike to travel all the way back - a gruelling 1,250 mile ride.
Andrea arrived home on Saturday, met by a group of her friends and family.
She took on the challenge to raise awareness and cash for the charity Baby Lifeline.
Their Ukraine appeal looks to support pregnant women, or new Mums, who have either been forced to leave their homes due to the war, or are still there.
Andrea told us:
"Since February we've providing specialised birth bags, maternity equipment and medical equipment to hospitals and bunkers across Ukraine's front line.
"I've met some of the most incredible, inspirational people over these past eight months, incredible Ukrainians who I now call friends if not family.
"Now that winter is coming things are only going to get worse, they're going to get harder.
"And I just thought if there's anything I could do, to raise awareness and raise funds, then I would do it - and it's been worth every mile."
Judy Ledger, Founder and CEO of Baby Lifeline, told their website:
“Andrea Fraser is a truly remarkable woman, not only because she’s bravely travelling to Ukraine on her own – and then putting herself through one of the most challenging fundraising activities we, in our 40 years as a charity, have ever seen – but also because of her unrelenting dedication to helping women and babies in Ukraine.
“Since the inception of Baby Lifeline’s Ukraine Appeal, she has been at the forefront of our steering group, which has supported mothers, babies and medical professionals in Bucha, Chernihiv, Sumy, Irpin, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Vorzel, with the provision of more than £500,000 worth of equipment.
“Thousands of babies continue to be born in the most horrific circumstances, and we have to continue to do what we can to support them. Andrea, you are an inspiration. Thank you for everything.”
