The Leonardo defence factory in Edinburgh has again been targeted by protestors over the on-going war in Gaza.

They blockaded the building on Wednesday morning - as laser targeting systems produced there are being used on fighter jets ordered by Israel.

A similar demonstration was held at the Italian weapons manufacturer on Crewe Road in March

It's understood today's action was sparked by the recent International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling found Israel's occupation of Palestine is illegal.

Protestors had signs aloft at the entrance saying "Stop Arming Israel" and "Stop Arming Genocide".

Leonardo has been approached for comment.

No arrests made

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 5.25am on Wednesday, 24 July, to a report of protest at a premises on Crewe Road North and Ferry Road in Edinburgh.

“Officers attended. There were no arrests and the protest has concluded.”
