Edinburgh play park set alight

Shocking pictures have shown the devastating impact of a fire in a children's play park in Edinburgh over the weekend.

The incident happened in the Restalrig area of the Capital around 1:30pm on Saturday (March 4).

Residents in Nisbet Court described seeing the flames and billowing smoke coming from the park, which has now left a burnt out shell of equipment.

Police are now looking into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On the afternoon of Sunday, 5 March, 2023, police received a report of a fireraising at a play park at Restalrig Park, Edinburgh, which took place the previous day. Officers are following positive lines of enquiry.”
