Edinburgh mum's heartbreak after theft from son's memorial garden
An Edinburgh mum has been left heartbroken after a group of girls stole from her son's memorial garden.
Jinty Clunie spent over £2,000 transforming her front garden in West Pilton as a tribute to her son Kevin Loughton. The 32-year-old died last year after taking his own life.
The memorial garden, which features sentimental items belonging to Kevin including a tractor tyre, was completed in December 2016.
But just over a week ago, on the 18th of February, CCTV installed by Jinty caught a group of girls stealing a sentimental metal heron from the display.
The heron ornament was precious to Kevin's family due to his love of birds.
His mum now says she is "devastated" and "hurt" by the theft and her only wish is to catch the group of thieves that took the ornament and for it to be returned.
