Edinburgh Military Tattoo unveils 1200 strong line-up
The Edinburgh Festival's showpiece event launches at the Castle Esplanade this week
It's just four days until the world famous Edinburgh Tattoo launches at the Castle Esplanade. Â
This year's theme, The Sky's the Limit, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and marks Scotland's Year of Young People.  Â
One of the highlights includes a Mexican marching band, The Banda Monumenatal de Mexico, who will perform Mariachi music and dance.
The South American band's performance also includes Luis Fonsi's well known hit Despacito. Â
Tattoo producer Brigadier David Allfrey, said: This is not a show where each act just bolts on to the back of the one in front."Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
"It's all integrated so performers will play in a variety of scenes and that requires us to weave it all together."Â Â Â Â
The first of 24 shows will kick off at 9pm on Friday 3 August. Â
Over 1200 performers are taking part in this year’s showcase, which will attract over 100 million viewers across the world.
