It's just four days until the world famous Edinburgh Tattoo launches at the Castle Esplanade.

This year's theme, The Sky's the Limit, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and marks Scotland's Year of Young People.

One of the highlights includes a Mexican marching band, The Banda Monumenatal de Mexico, who will perform Mariachi music and dance.

The South American band's performance also includes Luis Fonsi's well known hit Despacito.

Tattoo producer Brigadier David Allfrey, said: This is not a show where each act just bolts on to the back of the one in front."

"It's all integrated so performers will play in a variety of scenes and that requires us to weave it all together."

The first of 24 shows will kick off at 9pm on Friday 3 August.

Over 1200 performers are taking part in this year’s showcase, which will attract over 100 million viewers across the world.
