Edinburgh man who raped teenage girl facing lengthy jail sentence
A man who repeatedly raped a teenage girl and had sex with an underage child is facing a lengthy prison sentence.
Arron Kossatz, 20, was convicted on Friday at the High Court in Edinburgh of sexually assaulting his two victims at locations in the city between October 2012 and November 2013.
Jurors took one hour and 40 minutes to return verdicts of guilt in the case which judge Michael O'Grady QC heard over five days.
Kossatz, of Lady Nairne Crescent, Edinburgh, had maintained his innocence throughout proceedings.
But the court heard how Kossatz's first victim was aged just 13 when he started to rape her.
Jurors heard how the young woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was plied with alcohol before being sexually assaulted.
The abuse against the young woman continued until November 2013.
Kossatz had sex his second victim between October 2012 and November 2013.
The court heard that Kossatz had sex with the girl when she was aged just 14.
Police arrested Kossatz after collecting enough evidence to show that he broke the law.
On Friday, judge O'Grady remanded Kossatz in custody.
He will be sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on March 31 2017.
