Flash flooding brought on by stormy weather has caused widespread disruption across Edinburgh.
The capital was hit by sudden, heavy rainfall on Sunday afternoon, following a yellow Met Office weather warning for thunderstorms.
For drivers there were long waits of the Edinburgh bypass, which was left cut off by standing water at Dreghorn.
Pictures and videos showed several streets across the capital unable to cope with the deluge of water.
Edinburgh Council's Transport Convener, Councillor Lesley McInnes tweeted a message to residents on Sunday evening, saying an 'enormous, unusual volume of water' was to blame.
Videos also showed water pouring into the new St james Quarter shopping centre, days after its opening.
A spokeswoman for St James Quarter said: "Due to the severe weather in Edinburgh, parts of the St James Quarter Galleria were cordoned off for safety reasons.
"St James Quarter has been built to fully integrate with the city's streetscape and is not an enclosed building.
"Whilst St James Quarter has been designed as a naturally ventilated environment and allows some rain to come into the galleria, the extent of water ingress in two sections was mainly caused by severe rainfall testing areas within the second phase of opening which are still under construction."
There were also some disruption to train services, with flooding on the line between Waverley and Haymarket Stations.
Network Rail later confirmed the line had re-openend with a temporary speed limit.
