Edinburgh Comedy Awards Winners Announced

The winners of the 35th Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards were announced today at a ceremony at the Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh.

The Awards were presented by last year’s Best Comedy Show winner John Kearns and special guest, cricketer Freddie Flintoff.

The Award for Foster’s Best Comedy Show went to Sam Simmons: Spaghetti for Breakfast.

Nica Burns presenting the award said: “Sam Simmons has funny bones. He is a complete original, combining physical comedy with great verbal jokes and a unique take on life. His 2015 Edinburgh show is outstanding. This is a comedian at the top of his craft who has grown substantially since his two earlier nominations.”

Sofie Hagen: Bubblewrap picked up the prize for best newcomer while Karen Koren, Founder & Artistic Director of the Gilded Balloon won best panel.
