Edinburgh's Children's Taxi Outing celebrates 70th year
Allows children with special needs and life-limiting illnesses to have a fun day out.
The 70th annual Edinburgh taxi outing is taking place today.
It involves a procession of decorated cabs carrying groups of children with special needs and life-limiting illness through the city for the day.
The children will then end the day with activities and a BBQ at Yellowcraig beach in East Lothian.
The tradition, which dates back to 1965, also sees prizes awarded for fancy dress and taxi drivers soaking passer-bys with water pistols.
It is funded and organised by the taxi drivers.
