Edinburgh is home to the most congested road outside London.

Research by the traffic data firm INRIX says drivers using the A8 face the longest delays outside the capital.

The Princes Street to the Maybury junction, is the worst hit area, with a total of 43 hours hours of congestion last year.

It's estimated that the worst time on this route is 5pm on a Tuesday night.

The UK average is 30 hours for time spent in traffic, and traffic congestion went up in 61% on UK cities last year.
