Dunfermline driver dies after car crashes into garden fence

Police said the 64-year-old woman driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene

A woman has died after her car left the road and crashed into a garden fence in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the collision near the junction with Adamson Court in Dunfermline shortly before 3pm on Wednesday.

Police said the 64-year-old woman driving the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for information about the crash which involved a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

Sergeant Chris Anderson, of the Glenrothes road policing unit, said: "Our inquiries are ongoing and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any dashcam or private CCTV from the area to get in touch if you haven't already spoken to us.

The road was closed for investigations and fully reopened at around 7.25pm.
