Dunfermline boss Allan Johnston happy to wait on Faissal El Bakhtaoui
He's out of contract at the Pars
Dunfermline manager Allan Johnston admits he is happy to wait for Faissal El Bakhtaoui to ponder his future.
The 23-year-old is out of contract and considering his options after scoring 30 goals for the Pars last season as they won the Ladbrokes League One title.
Motherwell have expressed their interest but were waiting for the future of Scott McDonald to become clearer before making an offer.
Johnston, who was promoting the new Ladbrokes SPFL season at an event next to the Kelpies in Falkirk, said: He is just looking at all the different options he has got. Obviously a player of his quality is going to attract interest.
You can only try your best. He knows how much we want to keep him.
I think another year in the Championship would do his career the world of good, because after that, I'm sure if he did well, he would have loads of different options available.
You have got to wait for players of that quality, but if something comes up that you just can't turn down, you just have to go for it.''
