A 47-year-old man has died following a serious road crash in Midlothian.
A 47-year-old man has died following a serious road crash in Midlothian.
The incident happened at 3.40pm on Saturday on the A6094 in the Howgate area.
A red Citroen Berlingo van struck a dry stone wall and overturned in the village.
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A 14-year-old male passenger was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
Sergeant Neil Inglis said: Inquiries into this collision continue and our sincere condolences remain with the family of the driver at this very difficult time.
We've spoken to a number of people so far but anyone who witnessed this and who has not yet been in touch is urged to come forward.''
