Former Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans is set to return to Scotland after a spell in Australia with Western Sydney Wanderers.

The 34-year old has agreed to mutually terminate his contract early and move back home because of family reasons.

Dorrans played 23 times in the A-League last season for the Wanderers and became a fans' favourite at the club.

He scored four goals and captained the side on multiple occasions.

Dorrans said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience playing in front of such amazing fans.

“Everyone at the club has been so welcoming and I would like to thank the gaffer, Kenny, all the staff and the players. They’re a great bunch of players and staff that I’m sure will bring success to this club.

“Unfortunately for family reasons I have had to return home but I wish the whole club every success in the future.”

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said: “Graham was an outstanding professional during his time with the club and we thank him for his service and wish him well on his return to Scotland.

“In the best interest of the player and his family we made this decision with Graham to ensure we can progress with certainty this season in our squad planning and recruitment.”
