Wester Hailes dog walker threatened with stun device

Edinburgh cops are investigating after an incident in Wester Hailes where a man was threatened with a stun device.

It happened on Monday October 14th when the suspect approached and threatened the 26-year-old who was out walking his two dogs along Westburn Middlefield.

Officers say he was wearing a black and white skeleton print hoodie, accompanied by a large beige / cream Staffordshire cross dog, which was covered in scars. He is described to be between 27 and 35 and is 5ft10 in height and was last seen heading north towards Quarryview.

Detective Constable Ryan Lee of the Costorphine CID said this:

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the man, both he and the dog stand out, so I would appeal to anyone who either saw the argument or who can identify the man, contact police as soon as possible.”

“Information can be passed to the CID at Costorphine Police Office via 101. Please quote reference number 4416 of 14 October when calling.”
