Dog Walker Threatened By Man Wearing Balaclava In Dunfermline

Police in Fife are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Dunfermline last night. The incident happened around 7pm on a track close to the Lauder Learning Centre at Fife College on Halbeath Road when a man approached a dog walker and threatened him. The dog-walker defended himself and the suspect ran off towards Halbeath Road. The suspect is described as being about 6 foot tall, wearing dark clothing and a balaclava. He may have a facial injury. Officers are now urging anyone who was in the area around this time last night to please get in touch. Inspector Ian Flynn of Dunfermline Police Station said: “Luckily the dog-walker was not hurt but he was understandably distressed by this incident. “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have information that can assist us with our inquiries and help us to trace this man.” Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
