Driver in critical condition and two injured following crash near Falkirk

A 20-year-old driver is fighting for his life in hospital following a one-car crash near Falkirk on Sunday evening.

It happened around 7.40pm when a white Vauxhall Corsa heading east left the A883 between Falkirk and Denny near Headswood Mill Farm.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services investigated, re-opening around 1am on Monday, 14th February.

The driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where his condition is described as critical.

A 33-year-old man who was sitting in the front passenger seat sustained serious, but not life threatening injuries, and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Medics there described his condition as serious but stable.

A woman, aged 28, who was sitting in a rear seat, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Forth Valley Royal Hospital.

Sergeant David Ross said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened and also anyone with dash-cam that could assist with our investigation.
