Delivery driver injured after teenage gang attack

A delivery driver was assaulted in Uphall on Saturday afternoon after challenging a group of teenage boys about their behaviour.

The attack took place shortly before six in Loanfoot Road when the 47-year-old man was making a delivery.

The group, aged between 13 and 16, attacked the male and he was taken to St John's Hospital in Livingston where he was treated for a facial injury and other minor injuries.

Detective Constable Tony Gilhooley from Livingston CID said: "This has been a frightening experience for the man involved and thankfully he wasn't more seriously injured.

"The attack took place in a busy residential area, and I'm urging anyone who has any information about the incident to contact us via 101 quoting incident number 3288 of 14 September 2019."
