Man to stand trial accused of having explosives in Dalkeith
Ellis Archibald denied the charge
A man has denied a charge of making or having in his possession explosive substances when he appeared in the dock at the High Court in Glasgow.
Ellis Archibald, 20, who is also known as D'Ellis Archibald, is alleged to have had black powder, chemicals including sulphur, potassium and dextrin and equipment for the manufacture of explosives at 5 Elmfield Park, Dalkeith, Midlothian, on November 20, last year.
Archibald, who was represented by solicitor advocate Brian Gilfedder, pled not guilty to the charge under the Explosive Substances Act 1883.
Judge Lord Turnbull set a trial date for January 6 at the High Court in Edinburgh.
