Students at Craigmount High in Edinburgh won't resume their education until Wednesday - a day later than originally hoped.

Children in S1 will be based in Forrester High School/ St Augustine's High School campus. S2 pupils will be in the Darroch Centre (currently known as James Gillespie's Annexe). Students in S3 will be taught at Broughton High School.

The Leader of Edinburgh City Centre, Andrew Burns, had hoped that all 7,600 pupils out of their schools would be in alternative arrangements by Tuesday.

The local authority announced they were closing 17 schools last Friday, due to fears over the buildings structures.

The schools were all built or refurbished under the same PPP scheme around 10 years ago by Edinburgh Schools Partnership, which last week revealed it was unable to provide safety assurances for the premises, sparking the closures.

Once construction was finished, the buildings were self-certified, which meant Edinburgh City Council did not carry out their own safety checks.

The partnership is carrying out structural surveys at the schools over the weekend and in to next week.
