Three bus services in the West of Edinburgh could be dropped, leaving communities cut off.
It's understood First are to consider withdrawing the 20, 63 and 68 this Summer as contracts come to a close.
The area's MP Christine Jardine has requested a meeting with the company to discuss a way forward - it's believed ongoing struggles with staff recruitment are a concern.
"That will affect communities right along those routes in the city, those three services are vital, it's already problematic commuting from Ratho, if you don't have a car, and it would make it well-nigh impossible." the Lib Dem told Forth News.
"We need to get to the bottom of this right away, we need to find out why this is the case. And see if there's some way to either have first bus continue or finding an alternative.
"This could be a real hammer blow to communities, and across a number of communities who depend on these three services.
"But it also undermines everything that we're trying to do to encourage people on to public service, to create less pollution, have cleaner air for us all to breathe, and to tackle climate change.
"The immediate impacts will be on the communities, but it also has a much longer reaching far reaching impact for those communities as well."
