A critically-acclaimed sci-fi movie starring Colin Farrell will close this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival as the event marks its 75th anniversary.

'After Yang', which is set in the future, tells the story of a family losing their robot helper.

The film had its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 where it was warmly received by international critics.

It went on to win the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

The Closing Gala will be at the Vue cinema in the Omni Centre on Saturday the 20th of August.
