Teenager and woman charged after two children hurt and Yorkshire Terrier killed in dog attack

A 16-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman have been charged after a dog attack in Bathgate left two children injured.

A mini Yorkshire Terrier was also killed in the incident in a park near Blackburnhall Gardens around 6:20pm on Wednesday.

The children, aged three and ten, suffered minor injuries in the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 40-year-old woman and a 16-year-old male youth have been charged in connection with a dog attack in a park in Bathgate.

“The incident happened around 6.20pm on Wednesday, 5 January, 2022, near Blackburnhall Gardens when two children, aged 10 and 3, sustained minor injuries and a mini Yorkshire terrier died.

“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
