Celtic have officially announced the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.

The Greek-Australian coach will take over at the Parkhead side with their search for a new manager finally coming to an end.

It has taken over 100 days for the Hoops to fill the role with Neil Lennon departing on February 24.

The club were hit with a setback last month when talks broke down with long term target Eddie Howe.

He was unable to assemble the backroom staff he wanted to bring with him to Glasgow.

Attentions soon turned to former Socceroos boss Postecoglou with the club having to negotiate a compensation fee with J-League side Yokohama F. Marinos for his services.

Postecoglou started his coaching career in 1996 with Australian National Scocer League side South Melbourne.

The 55-year old then took charge of Australian national youth teams before a brief foray into Europe with Greek third division side Panachaiki.

He found success back in his homeland with Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory before heading back into international management.

Postecoglou managed Australia at the 2014 World Cup before leading them to victory in the 2015 Asian Cup.

Despite qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, Postecoglou resigned from the role before the tournament.

He said the job had taken a toll on him “both personally and professionally”.

Since the beginning of 2018 he has been in charge of Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos.

In the 2019 season, Postecoglou guided the club to their first J. League title in 15 years.
