CCTV released in hunt for Leith Walk attacker

A man, 22, was knocked unconscious outside the Spey Lounge.

These CCTV images show a man police want to speak to in connection with a serious assault outside a pub on Leith Walk last year which left the victim unconscious.

A 22-year-old man suffered several fractures to his head during the attack close to the Spey Lounge at around 1.20am on Saturday 12th November 2016.

Detectives say the man in the pictures was inside the bar before the attack.

He is described as white, with a medium build, around 20-25 years old, 5ft 8–10ins in height and with short fair hair.

H was wearing a dark Nike hooded top and blue jeans.

DC Ryan Lee of Gayfield CID said: "The victim was subjected to an unprovoked and sustained assault during which he suffered multiple fractures to his head.

"The man pictured is believed to be of significance to our investigation and anyone who can assist in tracing him is asked to come forward.

"Similarly we would ask the man himself to get in touch with police and help with our investigation."
