CCTV Released After Cowgate Attack

Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh's Old Town earlier this year.

Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh's Old Town earlier this year. A 26-year-old man was left in hospital with serious injures after the attack at around 3.15am on the Cowgate on Easter Monday, April 21 2014. Detectives are keen to speak to the man pictured within the CCTV footage. He is described as tall, white, of heavy build with medium length blond - brown hair with shaved sides. He was wearing a checked grey/light blue and white short-sleeved shirt with dark bottoms. DC Christopher Harding said: "The victim suffered a painful facial injury as well as a fractured collar bone, during an unprovoked attack whilst on a night out with friends. "The man pictured is believed to be of significance to our investigation and anyone who can assist in tracing him is asked to come forward. "Similarly we would ask this male to get in touch with police himself and help with our investigation."
