CCTV Image Released Over Attempted Robbery In Kirkcaldy
This grainy CCTV image has been released of a man police want to trace after an attempted robbery in which a pensioner was knocked to the ground as he tried to stop his wife's handbag being stolen.
The incident happened in Coal Wynd car park in Kirkcaldy, Fife, at about 3.45pm on Saturday when a man grabbed the 70-year-old woman's bag.
Her husband intervened but he was knocked down and bumped his head on the ground before another woman stepped in and retrieved the bag, at which point the man ran from the scene.
Police officers have today released images of a man they believe may be able to help with their investigation.
He is described as being in his late thirties, about 5ft 7ins to 5ft 9ins, and of scruffy appearance.
At the time, he was wearing dark grey jogging bottoms, a black jacket and was carrying a small rucksack.
