Scotland international Caroline Weir is being linked with a move to Real Madrid after Manchester City confirmed she will leave the club this summer.
The Dunfermline-born midfielder established herself as one of City's key players across her four-year spell.
Weir helped the side to two FA Cups and two League Cups and has also been nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award for goal of the year twice.
Various reports now claim she will make a move to the continent where Real Madrid are favourites to sign her up.
A Manchester City statement read: "Manchester City can confirm that Caroline Weir and Karima Benameur Taieb will leave the Club at the end of their current contracts this summer.
"Weir, who joined from Liverpool in June 2018, made 124 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net on 38 occasions including three memorable Goal of the Season winning efforts in consecutive home Manchester derbies.
"The Scotland international also helped the team to secure four trophies in as many years in the form of two Continental Tyres League Cups and two Vitality Women's FA Cups.
"Everybody at Manchester City would like to thank Caroline and Karima for their contributions during their respective spells with the Club and wish them the best for the future."
