Car attack in Whitburn treated as murder bid
A man has suffered serious injuries after being deliberately knocked down by a car in Whitburn.
A black Fiat Punto was driven into the 30-year-old following an argument with a group of men on Glebe Road around 7pm.
He is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, but his injuries are not life threatening.
The Punto left the scene, heading towards the nearby town of Armadale, while a black Audi A5 car, which had been travelling in convoy with the Fiat earlier, was seen to drive off towards the Fauldhouse area.
Police are working to trace those who were in the cars, and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Andrew McGhee from Livingston CID said: ''We are treating this incident extremely seriously and are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area on Saturday night.
As part of this investigation we want to trace the driver and any passengers from within the Punto and Audi and if you can help us identify any of these individuals then please contact police immediately.
In addition anyone with any further information relating to this inquiry should also get in touch.''
