Hearts Striker Liam Boyce is confident he will be fit for the Scottish Cup Final.

The Northern Irishman came off injured early on in the weekend loss to fellow finalists Rangers.

But Boyce has revealed his groin strain is already feeling better, and he will be ready to start in the curtain closer if selected.

He said:

"When it happened I tried to sprint and just felt my leg tighten up and a wee pain, and sort of like a shock and you automatically think the worst.

"It was probably better on Saturday night but since then it's been getting better."

Boyce is keen to help write himself and his teammates into the history books, having seen the legacy left behind by previous cup winners - such as the 2012 team.

Last week that side were inducted into the club's hall of fame.

Boyce said that sort of achievement can help drive the current players on, saying:

"It's ten years since they last won in, so it shows how big a challenge you have to place yourself in the history of the club.

"I think it's sort of hard to not see it when you play at a club like Hearts. Obviously the fans love it so much. It's always brought up beating Hibs 5-1 in the final.

"Even when I was at Ross County I got to play with Darren Barr - he scored in the final. He talks about it as well, how big of a day it is. And and if you ever speak to Lockey (Gary Locke) he's buzzing about that day.

"The history sort of comes in, the longer you're here and you meet all the people about training"
