Police Scotland has confirmed complaints have been made about the Prime Minister's visit to Scotland.

Boris Johnson is here as part of a one-day visit

That's despite Nicola Sturgeon saying on Wednesday she’s "not ecstatic" at the prospect of a visit from the Prime Minister.

Speaking at the Scottish Government's coronavirus briefing on Wednesday, Ms Sturgeon said: "I would say me travelling from Edinburgh to Aberdeen to visit a vaccination centre right now is not essential, and Boris Johnson travelling from London to wherever he is in Scotland to do the same is not essential.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We have received a small number of complaints regarding Prime Minister Boris Johnson's visit to Scotland.

"This is a working visit in his official capacity as Prime Minister and we are policing the event appropriately."

SNP MP Stewart McDonald has also written a letter to the Prime Minister complaining about his trip, saying Castlemilk is a constituency 'his party has hit hard', asking the Prime Minister to reflect seriously and respect the guidance.
