Body found in search for missing West Lothian man Joel McDiarmid

A body has been found in the search for a 28-year-old man who went missing in West Lothian last month.

The family of Joel McDiarmid, from Bathgate, has been informed of the discovery, although formal identification is yet to take place.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A body has been found in the search for 28-year-old Joel McDiarmid who was missing from the Bathgate area.

"Formal identification is yet to take place but Joel's family has been informed.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

An appeal to find Joel was launched last month after he was last seen at his family home in the Boghall area of Bathgate at around 4pm on Wednesday, November 17.
