Body found in search for missing William Scott

Police searching for missing pensioner William Scott have found a body in Leith.

Officers and the dog unit uncovered the body in the water of Leith near Victoria Bridge earlier today.

No formal identification has taken place yet but the family of the 90-year-old have been informed.

The pensioner from Chesser has been missing since December 11. He was last seen near the Finn and Bear pub on the Shore.

His death is being treated as unexplained.

Police are thanking all who have helped in the search for Mr Scott.
